Awhile back I did a post on Virtual Visitation. Today, I received a comment stating the post was one sided. In order to provide that other side, I have included the comment from the individual who has the website, Virtual Families and Friends.com.
His comment: "The article you cite gives only one side of the story. I was a "virtual dad" 10 months a year for nearly 10 years (my son is now 21 years old). Thanks in part to "virtual visitation," he's very close to me -- we've communicated almost every day -- and he's close to his mom. Fortunately he didn't have to choose between us. He has turned into a wonderful young man. I'm very proud of him. Virtual visitation is no substitute for face-to-face contact, but it does make it possible to maintain a relationship, and remain close from a distance, so that your child does not view you as a stranger or as a distant relative when you do have time together. Please do not reject this option out of hand.
See my web site, http://www.virtualfamiliesandfriends.com for details. Also, see the web site of Michael Gough, another father who fought for the right to virtually visit with his daughter, http://www.internetvisitation.org
Internet parent-time, or virtual visitation is far preferable to constant conflict or years-long custody wars.
Thank you Mr. Bule for your comment and website. I have linked it to this blog for future reference.
