E-faxing, get rid of your phone line
This was posted today on The Practice, E-faxing, get rid of your phone line. Great post. However, for some
of us, E-faxing is just not an option. For instances, here in my area, if we want to use such a service, we end up with a long distance phone number for our fax number. Can be a problem. I use a different approach. Pagesender is my choice in faxing. It is installed on my Mac and I send and
receive with this wonderful program. For incoming faxes, it is easy. They come into my computer and I store them in the client's file. For outgoing faxes, if it is not already on my computer, I simply scan it in and use Pagesender as the print option and fax it with my computer. Another nice feature is the email ability the program has. If I am out of the office and have my laptop with me, I can set the program to email me my faxes. All I have to do is go to a Wi-fi location, get online and get my emails. and there in my inbox are the faxes for the day.
E-faxing is a great option and if I could I would certainly use it. But, if you are not in an area where your fax number would be local, consider a program like Pagesender.
UPDATE: Jon at The Practice provided the following comment to my post: "For those who do not want a long distance number, you can try uReach.com. They give a toll free number for faxing and its only ten cents per page." I went to the uReach and it does look promising.
